When I was in Kiev last year, I ran into an old friend I hadn't seen in many years. Indupati. He told me of his plans to travel to Africa, establish centers and teach Bhakti-yoga there. As part of his project, he recently took sannyasa with the name Bhakti Pradipa Parivrajaka. He asked me to post this short note on humility.
Humility
by B.P. Parivrajaka
Due to the presence of an unlimited number of conditioned souls
here, it is absolutely necessary to be humble. Why? Because I am in the same
position as every conditioned living entity.
Sometimes I may go up and
sometimes I may go down.
At some point I may acquire sufficient sukrti to have
the association of a real sadhu. I shall place my head at their lotus feet and
pray for their grace and mercy.
And if and when they choose to distribute what
is in their heart with me, I shall have no other duty but to share this with
any and every innocently suffering soul. i must never ever forget my tiny
insignificant position.
I pray to the lotus feet of my divine master, Lord Sridhara, may He give me a
drop of His divine nectar that He has chosen to keep safely and securely within
the very core of His transcendental heart, until such a moment when He sees fit
to distribute it.
I bow down my head at the lotus feet and divine halo of my
Lord Sridhara.
